Weekend Walks & Summer Escapes

OK. This is brilliant. I’m off to the coast for a road trip on the 28th. I will be posting both photos and video streams of the journey – sort of a new approach I’ll be taking with this blog. I plan do some camping, plenty of eating, and a whole lot of sightseeing. If the weather holds, I’ll be heading to Seongbuk-dong this weekend for some dwaeji galbi and traditional tea. I’ll post a set of my favourite hideaways in that area.

My friend Tracey was just in New York promoting her work. It was a worthwhile effort that garnered her some significant interest. So much so that she’s considering leaving Vancouver to make the Big Apple her home for the next little while. Her book, entitled “Encompass” is now available for purchase. Brilliant stuff. Skim through it from the link I posted. It’s fully loaded. With 112 pages under its hardbound hood it’s well worth the price tag. I’ve just bought myself a copy.

Museum of Light | Mt. Namsan Reborn

Entitled “Namsan: Museum of Light”, the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Urban Competitiveness Headquarters has put together a stunning series of photos to show a different side of Seoul’s historic landmark. The project is slated to run until the end of this year.

Go check out the work from French artists Alexdandre Kolinka and Cedric Le Borgne. Beautiful stuff. To get there simply grab a bus bound for N Seoul Tower outside exit 2 at Chungmuro Station. The bus will take you right to the top of Namsan.

KYC Photography | Cannes Lions 2009

On Saturday I visited Kim Yoo Chul’s studio near Apgujeong with one of my team members. They are working on a new campaign submission for the 56th Annual International Advertising Festival that is held in Cannes (France) and needed my help with some copywriting work. Not only does it seem like an amazing opportunity, but I was blown away by both the studio and lengthy list of clients Kim Yoo Chul has worked with.
