Changgyeong Palace by Night

May 1, 2011

Changgyeong Palace was keeping its gates open until 10pm (April 26~May1) to give people a rare chance to shoot the grounds under stars. Despite the severe yellow dust, we headed over last night to snap a few shots. Plenty of photographers with massive amounts of gear in tow. Thought I’d travel light and try out the GF1. Also ran into Robert. Will link to his set when it’s up.

UPDATE: View Robert’s set here and Kim Sungjin’s (who shot the palace from above) here.

As I took the photo of Changgyeong Palace from above at outside, I didn’t have a chance to look at close.
Your photos are quite beautiful and harmonious.
    Great work!

Thanks very much, Sungjin. I loved the perspective of your photos. I hope the palaces do something like this again soon.

Was this a special event or is Changgyeong Palace always open at night?

Special event. They kept it open from April 26th~May 1st until 22:00. Pretty beautiful place. My photos don’t do it justice.
