2009 Korean Temple Food Festival
Korean cuisine isn’t all about kimchi, ddeokbokki and makgeolli. This year’s Korea Temple Food Festival will be revealing a host of traditional dishes and drinks together with a series of seminars by prominent monks from Korea, Japan and Taiwan in an attempt to add Buddhist cuisine to “the growing table of global candidates.”
Boasting a series of art exhibitions, a temple food market, tea ceremony programs, tours, temple stay programs (for a select number of international applicants) and an exclusive gala, the three-day event offers participants an opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the facets that form an authentic temple food experience.
The 2009 Korean Temple Food Festival will take place at Bongnyeongsa in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province from October 8th~October 10th.Visitors can register for the 2009 Temple Food Seminar until September 30th. The seminar is slated for October 8th at 10 a.m. Admission is free.
To get there take subway Line 2 to Gangnam Station. Hop out Exit 3 and grab either the 3001 or 3007 bus headed for Suwon. From Suwon Station, take the 7, 77-1 or 700.
