Good Craic

One of my favourite movies from last year, and quite possibly of all time, is the Irish movie “Once”. The duo that starred in the movie are coming to Seoul in January and I was lucky to have scooped up tickets. The film was enormously successful in Korea and ran for a much longer period than most others. Koreans share a close affinity with the Irish on a certain level I have heard. That sense of inner suffering, or han, is prevalent in both cultures given their turbulent histories. Anyhow, there’s a good piece in The Korea Times about the film and the upcoming concert.

Oh, and Jason Mraz is coming back to Seoul next February. We saw him earlier this summer and he rocked. Hands down the best live act I have ever seen. The guy is an incredible entertainer. Good craic indeed!
