Coming up April 10 is Seoul’s International Photo & Industry Imaging Show. I was there last year and it’s a pretty cool venue. It’s a great way to network and maybe score some solid leads with publications. I met a handful of local magazine editors who were on the look out for contributors. Be prepared to battle the crowds though - the digital photography community is growing exponentially and these events are huge magnets, particularly in a city with 12 million people.
Sacred Murals
March 30, 2008I posted a pic the other day from a journey up to a shamanistic temple nestled at the base of Inwangsan Mountain. This sparked an interest to post another and continue doing so as there are so many gracing both temple walls and doorways.

Saturday Stroll Through Seoul
March 29, 2008Despite the rain and bleached skies yesterday, I strolled through Seoul with a co-worker and managed to get a few snaps in. Highlights were Gilsangsa Temple and Seoul Fortress Wall.

Calming Landscapes
March 28, 2008Shim Hyun-Chul has another great set of pics taken from a trip to Yeongam, South Jeolla Province. I believe he was using a Nikon D3 here.
Hanok Hideaways
March 28, 2008Sheltered at the base of Namsan Mountain are the picturesque grounds of Namsangol Hanok Village. Consisting of a beautiful garden and a seemingly endless series of traditional Korean houses called hanok, the village is a welcoming, and incredibly well-preserved reatreat just minutes away from the hectic pursuits of city life nearby. Of particular interest is the solemn, sturdy architectural design of the hanok housing. Built during the Joseon Dynasty, the houses were moved from their original locations throughout Seoul and completely restored before taking residence at Namsangol.
